Hikers and cyclists can take up the challenge of climbing the Zonheuvel, the Maarnse Berg, the Sint-Helena hill and the Doornse Kaap in the immediate vicinity of EuroParcs De Utrechtse Heuvelrug.
Another eye-catcher within walking distance of EuroParcs De Utrechtse Heuvelrug is the boulder island in Zandgat Maarn: a sand quarry west of the Maarnse Berg for the Dutch Railways.
Furthermore, not only Utrecht, but also Amersfoort with its beautiful city center and famous zoo is a twenty-minute drive away. The immediate area is further enriched with numerous monuments such as Maarsbergen Castle in the village of the same name, Geerestein Castle and the coach house of Groenewoude Castle in Woudenberg, Huis Doorn and Moersbergen Castle in Doorn.
Huis Doorn also houses the mausoleum of the last German Emperor Wilhelm II. Near Woudenberg there is also the seventeen-meter high Pyramid of Austerlitz, which was made in 1804 by Napoleon's soldiers, with a stone obelisk from 1894 on top.
