A painting by the Dutch Masters. EuroParcs De Rijp in West Graftdijk gives you that feeling when you take in the beautiful views of the North Holland Canal or the Eilandspolder nature reserve right across the park.
It is great to take a boat from the park to not only the Eilandspolder, but also to the Alkmaardermeer with the peat island De Woude as a possible pit stop. Or discover all the pittoresque villages in the surrounding area by bike, such as De Rijp and Middenbeemster.
Must-see attractions include the Beemster cheese factory, the windmills in the Schermer and the forts of The Defence Line of Amsterdam. If you choose the Fort along Nekkerweg, you can also enjoy the great spa.
The holiday park is ideally located: Alkmaar with its cheese market in summer is just a ten-minute drive away, the Zaanse Schans is fifteen minutes away, as are the North Holland dunes, forests, beaches and North Sea.
Furthermore, from the park you can reach the Koemarkt in Purmerend or the 18-hole course in the same town in just over ten minutes. Volendam, which offers both history and a vibrant nightlife, is half an hour's drive away.
