EuroParcs is one of the few operators on the market that generally offers the option of buying the plot of land where the holiday home is located. However, this is not always the case, as some plots are leased. In these cases, the government endeavours to leave the ownership of the land unchanged. If you have the opportunity, we strongly recommend that you purchase the land as well.
Owning the land not only provides a long-term, worry-free income stream, but also provides additional security in the event that the resort is transferred to a new owner. Owners who have purchased the associated land are protected in such an event. On the other hand, if no land is purchased and the new owner plans to make changes to the park, you may have to sell your holiday home.
Of course, there is also the option of leasing the property, which significantly reduces the initial investment. The lease option usually requires a lower initial investment compared to buying, which can make it easier to get started financially.
Another point in favour of renting the plot is the greater flexibility, especially if your needs or plans regarding your holiday home change. However, it is worth bearing in mind that this involves recurring lease costs, which can become more expensive in the long term.
Most holiday park providers do not usually offer their customers the option of purchasing the land, as this involves a certain amount of administrative work. In contrast, EuroParcs has decided to trust its customers and offer them the option of purchasing the land. This decision emphasises our intention to build a long-term relationship with our customers.
In both the short and long term, investing in a plot of land provides additional security for your purchase. After all, a plot of land does not usually lose value but, as the past has shown, actually increases in value.
