Wondrous colours in autumn
Whereas in the Netherlands we prefer to stay indoors when temperatures drop, autumn in Austria is actually a popular season for hiking and mountain sports. During these activities, you will enjoy the impressive autumn colours and vast forest areas.
Not in the mood for hiking? Then you can also have a great time at the thermal spa Therme Warmbad Villach. Nothing beats a day at the spa on a cold autumn day. Ideal to combine the spa with a visit to the town of Villach. Here you will find all kinds of nice restaurants and shops.
Snow fun in winter
Whereas in the Netherlands people often have to make do with some wet snow, in Austria you are assured of plenty of snowfall every winter.
Our holiday parks EuroParcs Pressegger See and EuroParcs Hermagor-Nassfeld are a 30-minute drive from ski resort Nassfeld. EuroParcs Ossiacher See is a 40-minute drive from Gerlitzen ski area. Perfect for a winter holiday with friends or family.
Another fun activity during winter is taking a snowshoe hike. The special shoes allow you to get to unique places. Follow the tracks of animals and enjoy the beautiful winter wonderland around you.
Reviving in spring
Once the snow melts, nature slowly comes back to life. Take a flower walk along the mountain trails and across the blooming alpine meadows. The icing on the cake of your spring mountain hike? Paragliding! From the air, you can look out over the blooming nature in no time.
Landskron Castle is also super fun to visit. Here you can watch a raptor show or visit the monkey mountain. Around 160 monkeys live here, which you can see up close on a private tour. With a bit of luck, you will even come across baby monkeys.
Cooling down and exploring in summer
Holiday parks EuroParcs Pressegger See and EuroParcs Ossiacher See are located directly on a lake. In summer, this is the perfect location for water fun. Go swimming, SUP-boarding, wakeboarding or water-skiing in the lake! For the real daredevils, rafting or canyoning in the area is also an option.
When you think of tobogganing you quickly think of winter, but not on Summer tobogganing run Pendolino! This toboggan run is no less than 2 kilometres long and lets you enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and meadows along the way. Other summer activities that should definitely be on your list are mountain biking and taking a long walk through the mountains.
As you can see, there is plenty to do in Austria all year round. That makes this country and specifically the state of Carinthia the ideal place to invest in.
